The International Association of Exhibitions and Events® (IAEE), in partnership with the Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) and the Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA), is excited to announce an expanded collaboration that will streamline access to career opportunities across the exhibitions and events industry. By integrating efforts with IAEE’s existing job board, EDPA and ESCA members will now benefit from a united platform that consolidates a broad range of job listings, making it easier than ever for both employers and job seekers to connect.

This enhanced platform offers targeted job listings across various sectors, including event management, design, logistics, production, and more. IAEE President and CEO, Marsha Flanagan M.Ed., CEM, emphasized the significance of this collaboration stating, “Our goal with this collaboration is to ensure that all industry professionals have access to a comprehensive resource for career opportunities. By partnering with EDPA and ESCA, we are providing unparalleled value to our collective memberships and the industry at large.”

The job board features a user-friendly interface, allowing employers to efficiently post and manage listings while providing job seekers with tools to search and apply for positions that match their skills and career goals. Julie Kagy, Executive Director of ESCA, added, "This integration simplifies the process for both job seekers and employers. Our members now have streamlined access to career opportunities, and employers can connect with a broader pool of talented professionals.” 

Dasher Lowe, Executive Director of EDPA, highlighted the impact on industry stating, “This job board is a key tool for fostering talent development. By connecting skilled professionals with top opportunities, we’re helping build a strong workforce that will elevate the quality and creativity of events for years to come.”

The job board is now live and available for members and non-members of IAEE, ESCA, and EDPA, offering a wide range of employment opportunities within the exhibitions and events industry. EDPA is looking for a Program Manager
to join our team!

EDPA is adding to our small but dedicated team.  We are seeking a proactive individual to join our staff as a Program Manager. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and engage in various committees and key initiatives (including content management) to support EDPA’s strategic goals. This role requires a high level of organization, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate and motivate diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Committee Engagement:

  • Serve as the association liaison for various committees.

  • Participate in committee meetings, coordinate with committee chairs and provide support to ensure deliverables are met.

  • Coordinate and support committee activities, including scheduling, communications, and documentation.

  • Work as both a strategic and tactical resource to help achieve committee goals


Initiative Support:

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and evaluation of key initiatives and projects.

  • Monitor progress, track milestones, and report on the status of initiatives.

Identify potential challenges and propose solutions to ensure successful outcomes.

Content Management:

  • Work closely with committees to identify and curate relevant content, helping shape and repurpose existing materials for different channels and audiences.

  • Monitor and report on content performance metrics.

  • Assist in maintaining and updating the content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of content pieces and aligning them with business strategies and goals.

Administrative Support:

  • Lend support in helping with calendar management, correspondence, and preparation of reports.

  •  Organize and maintain timelines and documents related to committee activities and initiatives.

  • Assist with the preparation of meeting agendas, materials, and presentations.

Member Engagement:

  • Communicate with members to gather feedback and address inquiries related to committee work and initiatives.

  • Foster positive relationships with members and stakeholders to enhance engagement and participation.

  • Support member recruitment and retention efforts through outreach and engagement activities.

 Event Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of association events, including conferences, workshops, and webinars.

  • Coordinate logistics, manage registrations, and provide on-site support during events.

  • Collaborate with vendors, speakers, and volunteers to ensure seamless event operations.

Marketing Coordination:

  • Coordinate newsletter including writing articles, solicitating content from committees

  • Collaborate with marketing resources, committees, chapters, etc. to execute monthly newsletter and social media posts 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in association management, project management, or a similar role.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Curiosity/aptitude for emerging technology tools (e.g. TikTok, ChatGPT, etc,)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience within the event/exhibitions industry is a plus.

  • High level of professionalism and commitment to the association’s mission.

  • Ability to convey the EDPA vision and strategy to members and the Board
    Ability to develop positive and productive relationships so that members are drawn to becoming involved with EDPA

Zachary Martinez, whose mother works at Captivate Exhibits, is the recipient of an EDPA Scholarship.  Zachary is a sophomore at UW-Whitewater (Wisconsin), where he is pursuing a BA in technical theater with a minor in accounting. According to his submission, Zachary’s goal is to be a lighting/set designer for major stage productions—and to be able to support his family financially.

He writes, “My college path has allowed me to develop my skills as a designer and a builder in the theater world… and accounting will allow me to make smarter business decisions.”

Zachary is financially independent and has worked multiple jobs to pay for his education while achieving a spot on the Dean’s List. He told us, “You can guarantee that this award will be given to a person willing to put in the hard work to achieve his goals in life.” 

The EDPAF scholarships are available to the family members of industry employees and have helped countless students pursue their dreams of higher education. EDPAF remains committed to doing more good.  Stay tuned next month as we share more details about upcoming good works and scholarship recipients!
